12/12/2021. Looking Forward…

Elections are important but they can be awkward, volatile, and disagreeable. It is a competition between two parties that want to win. When an election is over, sportsmanship takes over and in our case, the financial health and viability of our community becomes priority.

Over the last 5 months, I have been doing my homework and I’ve learned a lot. Now I’m fortunate to have a full Executive Board to delegate to and work with; a luxury that wasn’t afforded to the previous board.

Our first week in office was a head spinning experience. Philly Living is now working with five, newly elected, motivated, and enthusiastic homeowners that are looking to immediately address a number of concerns our neighbors have shared.

It has been suggested that we are looking for mistakes or missteps in order to produce “gotcha” moments and hold people responsible. This couldn’t be further from the truth. We didn’t run a campaign of revenge, but we cannot stand before this community and say “All is well” when we have thousands of documents and at least 4 years of history to scour.

We want to summarize past spending and move forward with a creative and mindful plan, starting with our 2022 budget. If we find discrepancies along the way, we will do everything in our power to work on settlement and reparation.

Our first official Executive Board meeting is scheduled for Wednesday December 15th. This will not be a public meeting because a number of issues, that require our immediate attention, involve private and sensitive information and we are collectively committed to your privacy.

This meeting is scheduled to run 1.5 hours and will be based around findings from our first 10 days, voting on allocating funds for accounting and legal services, a review of past maintenance work, and contract reviews. There are documents we have to order and some are still being prepared by Philly Living. To be fair, our requests came into Philly Living fast and furious and they have delivered much of what we’ve asked for in a timely manner.

Please use this questionnaire at the bottom of this page to get your issues “on the table.” We will hear you. We will work for and with you. We will respect you, your investment, and your money.

We campaigned on transparency and it is our belief that an informed community is a safe, responsible, and considerate community. The Minutes will be recorded at every meeting and will be posted on this community website within 24 hours.

Thank you for your continued support and cooperation,

Natasha Hulme, President
