Trash Alerts
Dear Neighbors,As you are now aware, our recycling pickups have been sporadic for several weeks. Philly-311 has been notified and the Streets Department has responded that they will be addressing the issue, but not saying when.We have a stormfront forecasted for Wednesday afternoon into early evening with the chance of dangerous winds, followed by windy/gusty conditions continuing on Thursday into Friday overnight. If the recyclables are not collected by 1PM tomorrow (Wednesday 3/5/2025) – It is being requested that you collect your recyclables from the trash pad and secure behind your patio fence. If possible, place out on Friday Morning for regular scheduled pickup.Between the two holidays and Eagles parade disruptions, we have been frustrated but patient, footing the cost of our cleanup, however, this is a reminder to always secure your recyclables. Use paper bags to store cans, bottles in your blue bins and use twine or tape to tie up unfolded boxes. Bundle and tie newspapers. To save room, crush water bottles, cans, and milk containers. Thank you to our neighbors who spent hours this weekend cleaning up from the wind. We’d like to limit the need for this in the future. As owners, it is each of our responsibility to respect our property, and grow our investment together.Unfortunately, if one more recycling pickup is missed, we will be at a crossroad to discontinue recycling if the City cannot offer an explanation or guarantee of municipal service. I hope it will not come to that, as many of you were thrilled to have a recycling program again. Please keep your fingers crossed. Please continue reading the following alert pertaining to trash collection requirements from the City of Philadelphia.

The City of Philadelphia Department of Sanitation has strict procedure for picking up trash. If they see recyclables in a plastic trash bag, if the trash bag is damaged, if recyclables are not sorted correctly, they have and will leave trash behind.
If your trash is not picked up, you MUST collect your trash and return it to your bin, correct the problem, and place it out on the next trash day.
