JUNE 2022
ALERTS:
END OF MONTH REVIEW:
Bushes and Hedges: Cobblestones was able to get an earlier date for hedge, bush and tree trimming. Originally scheduled for July, Sharp’s addressed our early growth spurt with satisfying results. 5 workers were on the property for a total of 12.5 hours and the general consensus is one of satisfaction and any neighbor complaints, suggestions, and concerns will be addressed in the future.
The Board will be revisiting and reexamining our governing docs in regards to landscaping to make sure all requirements and jurisdictions are met.
Parking Lot: The stains left by Republic Trash have been cleaned as best as possible using several professional cleaning products that are safe to our property and the environment.
Stucco/Algae Stains: Stucco cleaning and stain removal is scheduled for Tuesday July 5th. This will be careful and mindful job and all precautions are being taken to ensure the life of our stucco. We will make every attempt to alert homeowners of work, at least 24 hours in advance. Windows will need to be closed as the work is being done. Any house with open windows, will be skipped and rescheduled.
Oh Deer! : There have been a few sightings, some caught on video, of deer on our property. It should be noted that there are a number of flowers and plants that deer love to graze on, including Roses and Hydrangea. If you maintain a flower bed or potted plants and have experienced these flowers disappearing, I would strongly suggest looking at this list for suggestions for plants and flowers that deer do not like to eat. https://www.imustgarden.com/plants-deer-eat
Lot Striping and Numbering : Starting in July, you might see me, joined by volunteers who are crafty with a paint brush, laying down lines and space IDs. Volunteerism has never been a stranger at The Cobblestones, from litter pick-up to gardening, and volunteerism is a great way to utilize the time and talents of those who have it to devote. It’s important to note a few things: Spots will be adjusted and organized to put cars back closer to the owner’s home, correcting any rearranging from the past.
We will not be using spray paint and we will be starting with spots that are not occupied in order to limit any chance of damage to autos. It will be a quick drying paint and monitored until dried. The project will happen over the course of a few fair weather days in July, eliminating the need and cost of towing remaining cars off the lot. This project will be fully documented with photos and video to eliminate any potential false claims, protecting the volunteers and our Association. More information will be distributed when this plan is finalized.
Stucco Part 2 : Surface cracks in the stucco will be assessed and repaired by professionals in the coming weeks (after the algae stain removal is complete.) We will make every attempt to alert homeowners of work, at least 24 hours in advance.
Friday June 24th
Parking lot powerwash rescheduled test: For those wondering why stains remained in the lot, our contractor was unable to remove the baked in sewage stains with the detergent he normally uses. After an hour, he claimed defeat but he returns today to attempt to complete the job, starting again with the Mermaid Lane lot at 9AM.
Also happening today 6/24/2022: Sharp’s Landscaping has bumped up our scheduled bush and hedge trimming to resolve the early seasonal growth spurt we’ve experience. They are expected to complete that assignment today.
Currently, there are NO TRASH ALERTS and The Cobblestones are back to its scheduled Thursday pick-up date.
A request to have the parking lot power-washed has been sent to Onyx. However, last night’s rain might have washed away most of the stink. The Board will stay on this issue.

Our recent trash situation has made it imperative for the Board to remind ALL homeowners and renters of our bylaws, rules and regulations, that all trash MUST be placed a can with a lid that closes. If you are finding that your household is generating more trash than one can, you must have a second can.
We can no longer allow trash bags to sit out especially when pickups are delayed.
It’s recommended that boxes be flattened or disassembled and bound together with string or tape.
Let’s keep The Cobblestone’s as beautiful and as “wildlife-free” as possible.
