ARCHIVE: MARCH 2022

SPRING IS HERE!!!

If you were pleased with Sharp’s for our snow removal this past winter, you will be happy to know that The Cobblestones has signed a 3 year contract with them.

Responsible for the beautiful grounds at Blossom Row and Chestnut Hill Village, Sharp’s will now add The Cobblestones to its portfolio and we couldn’t be more proud or excited to get started.

Aside from mowing the lawn, Sharp’s will handle turf edging, weeding and hard surface spraying, Spring leaf collection, Trees and shrub pruning in the Spring and Fall, Fertilization, Summer spot spray, Fall fertilization, and THREE visits for Fall leaf collection. This contract is also friendly to our budget, allowing us to work on capital improvements throughout our community, increasing the value of our homes and preserving our investment.

In the coming week’s, you will see our Cobblestones welcome sign, on Cresheim, be relocated to the Southwest corner of Crittenden and Cresheim surrounded by a new landscaping and boulder feature to not just beautify our grounds, but also to create an effective barrier and protect G-row from future traffic collisions.

Here’s an idea of what’s proposed by Sharp’s

GET A JUMP ON ANTS!

What do ants look like? - The Australian Museum

My favorite product for the 3rd year straight is
TERRO Ant Killer Plus
Terro Ant Bait Granules
for outside areas and along the path to of my home.

For inside my home, I like to use the

Borax and sugar combo.
Because I have cats, I take extra steps to keep them safe. In an old margarine or clean food container, I mix up 50% borax and 50% sugar and just a few drops of water. You want it to be clumpy, not runny or gooey. Cut a hole or “doorway” for the ants to come in and out of, being careful not to spill your mixture. I tape the container down to the floor, under the dining room window. That seems to be the hot spot every year. The ants come in to your container, walk on your mixture, and then go back out, dazed and stupid, poisoning the rest of the colony and the queen.

For the roof deck area, I prefer:
Raid Perimeter Protection is affordable, effective, and easy to use. The battery operated trigger system is fast and effortless.

Parking Alert:

Today we launch an initiative to get our parking lot under control and prevent vehicles from other developments from parking in our lots.
This pilot program both follows the rules and regulations of the community while taking a number of things into consideration.

If you are a homeowner with a second car parked in a visitor spot, we will be putting an envelope under your windshield wiper to better help you navigate these temporary rules for the lot while ensuring that your 2nd car is not removed by the tow service.

We ask that everyone register his or her vehicle(s) so cars that belong on the lot are easily identified by Smith’s Towing.

Please register before March 15th at:
https://forms.gle/bMkZowB46pyTB2kJ7

Note: It’s not a deadline. Registration will remain up and should be updated whenever a unit’s vehicle situation changes. The March 15th date is helpful in gauging our car to spot ratio and tweaking the current pilot program

Full FAQ regarding parking is coming soon.

As we put our Spring Wish and Priorities List together,
we will want your input. A community survey will be posted soon and all members of this HOA are invited to participate.
