NEWS
Our waste removal and recycling is under contract with the City of Philadelphia.
As a result of Union DC33’s contract dispute and strike, trash, garbage, and recyclable collection is suspended until further notice.
We ask for your patience and cooperation in keeping this community clean and vermin free by observing these helpful tips:
1) Wash all food and organic residue from plastic, metal, glass, and paper containers before tossing into the trash.
2) Use your garbage disposal.
(Note: Certain food items and non-food materials should not be put down the garbage disposal as they can cause clogs or damage the unit.
These include grease, fats, oils, starchy foods like pasta and rice, fibrous vegetables, coffee grounds, eggshells, bones, and non-food items like plastic, metal, and paper.
3) Ziplock and freeze items that cannot be thrown in trash or down the garbage disposal.
4) Check the City of Philadelphia website often for trash drop-off points on our usual trash day: FRIDAY.
A contingency plan is in the works for Friday pickup July 11th, should the strike continue. You will receive an email and a text message (phone tree)
Please make sure your mobile number is on file with Onyx Capital Management and the Board. If you need to update your records, please do so by leaving the information in Secretary Joyce Shepherd’s mailbox (B5).
